Learning Goals
By examining the battle and theatre honours on the regimental guidon, students will create a presentation (such as
a podcast, class presentation, art project, or another teacher-approved medium) that reflects how the history of
The Queen’s York Rangers is interwoven with important national and international events connected to Canada’s
history, identity, and culture.
*This culminating assignment could also be completed as a Final Research Paper with students selecting
battle/theatre honours as sub-topics.
Success Criteria
Students can explain battle and theatre honours, and describe, through an exploration of The Queen’s York
Rangers, important moments in Canada’s military history and their connections to Canadian history, identity and
culture.
